«Τα φυτά στη ζωή μας»

Στο πλαίσιο συνεργασίας της Ένωσης καθηγητών –μαθητών για το περιβάλλον (CARETAKERS OF THE ENVIRONMENT GREECE, και του ΠΟΛΙΤΙΣΤΙΚΟΥ ΣΥΛΛΟΓΟΥ ΓΥΝΑΙΚΩΝ ΠΑΝΟΡΑΜΑΤΟΣ, με την Συντονίστρια Εκπαίδευσης Προσφύγων  στο  Κέντρο Φιλοξενίας Προσφύγων (ΚΦΠ) της SOFTEX, Μουριές Ελευθέριο-Κορδελιό, κ. Ανδρονίκη Γακούδη, υλοποιήσαμε

Εκπαιδευτικό Πρόγραμμα Περιβαλλοντικής Εκπαίδευσης στο  Κέντρο Φιλοξενίας Προσφύγων (ΚΦΠ)  SOFTEX, Μουριές Ελευθέριο-Κορδελιό με θέμα «Τα φυτά στη ζωή μας».

 Στόχος του προγράμματος ήταν η Περιβαλλοντική ευαισθητοποίηση των παιδιών του ΚΦΠ και η ανάπτυξη ενδιαφέροντος για το άμεσο περιβάλλον διαμονής τους, μέσω της ολιστικής προσέγγισης της διδασκαλίας και εκμάθησης της γλώσσας (ελληνικής, αγγλικής και αραβικής). Το πρόγραμμα είχε τρίμηνη διάρκεια και έγινε στο πλαίσιο του μαθήματος της Γεωγραφίας στο Hope School που λειτουργούσε στο ΚΦΠ. Η κ. Γακούδη δίδασκε εθελοντικά το μάθημα μία φορά την εβδομάδα για δύο διδακτικές ώρες. Ως θέμα του προγράμματος  επιλέχθηκε «Τα φυτά στη ζωή μας» (καλλωπιστικά και εδώδιμα) με απώτερο στόχο τη συμμετοχή των προσφυγόπουλων στην  βελτίωση του περιβάλλοντος χώρου διδασκαλίας και παιχνιδιού τους παράλληλα με τη διδασκαλία της αγγλικής ελληνικής και αραβικής γλώσσας).

Πορεία του προγράμματος:

1^ο Στάδιο: Έγινε παρουσίαση στα παιδιά εικόνων με διάφορα εδώδιμα και καλλωπιστικά φυτά και τους ζητήθηκε να τα αναγνωρίσουν. Σε συνεργασία με τον δάσκαλο της αραβικής γλώσσας καταγράφηκαν σε μια στήλη τα ονόματα των φυτών στη γλώσσα των παιδιών. Σε δεύτερη στήλη γράφτηκαν τα ονόματα στην αγγλική και σε μια τρίτη στήλη τα ονόματα στην ελληνική γλώσσα. Τα παιδιά αντέγραψαν τις τρεις στήλες από τον πίνακα για να μάθουν να γράφουν και να διαβάζουν τα ονόματα των φυτών στις τρεις γλώσσες.

2^ο Στάδιο: Ζητήθηκε από τα παιδιά να αναφέρουν ποιά άλλα φυτά γνωρίζουν εκτός από τα φυτά που είχαν παρουσιαστεί στις εικόνες. Ποια φυτά υπήρχαν στις αυλές των σπιτιών τους και των σχολείων τους στις πατρίδες τους. Τα ονόματα των φυτών αυτών καταγράφηκαν σε τρεις στήλες στον πίνακα στις τρεις γλώσσες.

Στη συνέχεια τα παιδιά αντέγραψαν τα ονόματα όλων των φυτών που έμαθαν σε δύο στήλες , μια με τα εδώδιμα και μία με τα καλλωπιστικά.

3^ο στάδιο: Τα παιδιά ζωγράφισαν το καθένα 4 φυτά που θα ήθελε να φυτέψουν στο περιβάλλοντα χώρο του σχολείου έτσι ώστε ο χώρος να γίνει πιο οικείος και να τους θυμίζει κάτι από την πατρίδα τους. Οι ζωγραφιές αναρτήθηκαν στον πίνακα και καταγράφηκε δίπλα σε κάθε ζωγραφιά το όνομα του φυτού και στις τρεις γλώσσες. Στη συνέχεια έγινε κατηγοριοποίηση σε δένδρα - θάμνους και αναρριχώμενα. Ακολούθησε συζήτηση για ιεράρχηση των προτιμήσεων των παιδιών. Δημιουργήθηκε μια λίστα με τα φυτά που επιλέχθηκαν.

4^ο Στάδιο: Δόθηκε στα παιδιά κάτοψη του χώρου όπου σημείωσαν τις θέσεις στις οποίες θα ήθελαν να φυτέψουν τα φυτά. Στη συνέχεια έγινε αναγνώριση των θέσεων στο πεδίο.

5^ο Στάδιο: Ορίστηκε μια ημέρα για την φύτευση των φυτών. Μέλη /εκπαιδευτές από την  ΕΝΩΣΗ ΚΑΘΗΓΗΤΩΝ ΚΑΙ ΜΑΘΗΤΩΝ ΓΙΑ ΤΟ ΠΕΡΙΒΑΛΛΟΝ (CARETAKERS OF THE ENVIRONMENT GREECE) και τα μέλη του Συμβουλίου του Πολιτιστικού Συλλόγου Γυναικών Πανοράματος συνεργάστηκαν για την αγορά των φυτών και των απαραίτητων εργαλείων κηπευτικής και τη μεταφορά τους στο ΚΦΠ και τη φύτευσή τους σε συνεργασία με τα παιδιά.

Λόγω ακαταλληλότητας του εδάφους εξ αιτίας υπερβολικής συμπίεσης μεταφέρθηκαν, με τη συνεργασία εθελοντών της Ομάδας διάσωσης Πανοράματος,  λάστιχα αυτοκινήτων που χρησίμευσαν ως γλάστρες για τη φ.﷽﷽﷽﷽﷽﷽﷽﷽ηκε μέχρι την ημερα μεταφορτυλΝΟΡΑΜΑΤΟW TOY DIOIHKHTIKOYύτευση των φυτών.

Τα παιδιά συνεργάστηκαν με εξαιρετική προθυμία και ευχαρίστηση για τη τοποθέτηση των λάστιχων στις θέσεις που είχαν επιλεγεί, τη μεταφορά χώματος μέσα στα λάστιχα, τη φύτευση και το πότισμα των φυτών. Νέοι μεγαλύτερης ηλικία παρατηρητές αρχικά της δράσης προσέτρεξαν στη συνέχεια σε βοήθεια των παιδιών για την μεταφορά του χώματος. 

6^ο Στάδιο: Με χρώματα και πινέλα που προμήθευσαν οι συνεργάτες του προγράμματος και σε συνεργασία με τους εκπαιδευτικούς του Hope School έβαψαν τα λάστιχα, έγραψαν οικολογικά συνθήματα και έκαναν πρόγραμμα δραστηριοτήτων για την περιποίηση των φυτών.

Το ενδιαφέρον των παιδιών για την φροντίδα των φυτών διατηρήθηκε μέχρι την ημέρα μεταφοράς τους εκτός του ΚΦΠ.

ΚΑΛΛΙΤΕΧΝΙΚΟ ΕΡΓΑΣΤΗΡΙ ΤΗΣ ΦΥΣΗΣ

Η ΕΝΩΣΗ ΕΚΠΑΙΔΕΥΤΙΚΩΝ ΜΑΘΗΤΩΝ ΓΙΑ ΤΟ ΠΕΡΙΒΑΛΛΟΝ «CARETAKERS OF THE ENVIRONMENT GREECE”, οργάνωσαν σε συνεργασία με τους «Φίλους του Βοτανικού Κήπου» εργαστήριο καλλιτεχνικό για συνθέσεις με υλικά από το δάσος στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος Grundvig με θέμα “ Forest for all all for Forest”.

To εργαστήριο πραγματοποιήθηκε στο Βοτανικό κήπο Σταυρούπολης με εκπαιδεύτρια την Γεωπόνο Νανά Χατζηαθανασιάδου, πρών υπεύθυνη του Βοτανικού κήπου , επίτιμο μέλος των «CARETAKERS και ιδρυτικό μέλος των «Φίλων του Βοτανικού Κήπου».

Στο εργαστήριο έγινε στις 23 Απριλίου 2013 και  είχε θέμα «Πασχαλινές συνθέσεις με υλικά από το δάσος». Σε αυτό συμμετείχαν 7 μέλη των CARETAKERS και 18 φοιτήτριες Παιδαγωγικής Σχολής οι οποίες ξεναγήθηκαν στον κήπο στο πλαίσιο του μαθήματος «Περιβαλλοντική Εκπαίδευση» και έκαναν τις δικές τους συνθέσεις .

FOREST FOR ALL , ALL FOR FOREST

ΤΑ ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΑ ΔΑΣΗ

Περιγραφή Δράσης του 1^ου Εσπερινού Γενικού Λυκείου  Θεσσαλονίκης

Το συντονισμό της δράσης είχε η κ. Στογιαννίδου Χαρά, Διευθύντρια του σχολείου και μέλος των Caretakers of the Environment Greece που συμμετείχε στην 2^η κινητικότητα που έγινε στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος Grundvig  στην Ταρσό.

To πρόγραμμα περιελάμβανε ενημέρωση των μαθητών από τη Διευθύντρια του σχολείου για την ύπαρξη και τη σημερινή κατάσταση των Ελληνικών δασών καθώς και τις δράσεις που μπορούμε να αναπτύξουμε σε αυτά ως ενεργοί πολίτες.

Οι μαθητές που συμμετείχαν στο πρόγραμμα κάλυψαν ηλικίες από 17 ως 50 χρονών. Άλλοι είναι εργαζόμενοι και άλλοι άνεργοι. Συμμετείχαν 35 μαθητές.

Στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος αποφασίστηκε να γίνει μια βιωματική γνωριμία με τις δυνατότητες αναψυχής στο δάσος και τη συμβολή τους στην ψυχική  υγεία  των συμμετεχόντων σε δραστηριότητες στο δάσος. Έτσι αποφασίστηκε η επίσκεψη σε δάσος και σε έναν υγροβιότοπο σε γειτνίαση με το δάσος. Στην επίσκεψη αυτή μερικοί μαθητές έφεραν και τα παιδιά τους και έτσι η ηλικιακή κλίμακα των συμμετεχόντων διευρύνθηκε κατά πολύ. 

Ο τόπος επίσκεψης επελέγη από τους μαθητές που αποφάσισαν να συνδυάσουν μια εκδρομή σε βουνό και σε ένα υγροβιότοπο, της περιοχής Άγρα-Νησιού και του όρους Καιμακτσαλάν. Η περιοχή έχει κηρυχθεί ιδιαίτερου κάλλους και συμπεριλαμβάνεται στο πρόγραμμα NATURA 2000 . Το τοπίο παρουσιάζει ιδιαίτερη ομορφιά και προσφέρεται για εναλλακτικές δραστηριότητες. Οι μαθητές επέλεξαν την περιοχή και για έναν επιπλέον λόγο, πριν από δύο μήνες είχε ξεσπάσει φωτιά, με αποτέλεσμα την διατάραξη της πανίδας. Ήθελαν επομένως να ενημερωθούν για τις πιθανές συνέπειες μιας καταστροφικής πυρκαγιάς.

Έτσι η επίσκεψη και πεζοπορία στο δάσος συνδυάστηκε με ξενάγηση από την υπεύθυνη ερευνήτρια του κέντρου πληροφόρησης που υπάρχει στην περιοχή., η οποία μίλησε για τον πλούτο του Υδροβιότοπου και τα προγράμματα που αναπτύσσονται εκεί με την προσφορά εθελοντικής εργασίας για τον καθαρισμό της λίμνης και την καλή διατήρηση των μονοπατιών που προσφέρονται για τουρισμό και παρατήρηση πουλιών. Η ερευνήτρια μας προμήθευσε με κιάλια και τηλεσκόπιο για να παρατηρήσουμε κάποια είδη πουλιών που βρίσκονταν ακόμη στην περιοχή.  Στην περιοχή υπήρχε παλαιότερο σημαντικό Ρωμαϊκό κάστρο που αποτελούσε τότε παρατηρητήριο της Εγνατίας οδού.

Η δράση ολοκληρώθηκε με τη συμπλήρωση ερωτηματολογίου αξιολόγησης. Η εμπειρία αξιολογήθηκε από το σύνολο των συμμετεχόντων πολύ θετικά και δήλωσαν ότι νοιώθουν περισσότερο ενημερωμένοι για ένα τόπο που μέχρι τώρα αγνοούσαν. Εκείνο που απόλαυσαν περισσότερο ήταν η ενημέρωση της ερευνήτριας ξεναγού και διατύπωσαν την επιθυμία για περισσότερες επισκέψεις με ενημερωτικό και ψυχαγωγικό χαρακτήρα στη φύση.

Στην αξιολόγηση απάντησαν 35 μαθητές.

5^th JUNE UNIVERSAL DAY FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

Teachers members of Caretakers of the Environment Greece Anthoula Chatzitheodorou and Eleni Nikolaidou – trainers of the Grundtvig project “Forest for all all for Forest” and their students participated actively in the celebration of the day at the Botanic Garden of Stavroupolis.

Ms Nana Chatziathanasiadou had organized activities for the participants and the team of students and teachers read poems written by a famous Greek poet “ Nikiforos Vretakos” with the theme “trees – forest – environment”.

We also created a “forest” with drawings of trees suggesting that we are ALL FOR FOREST.

The poster we made had inventive messages about the environment.

We all united our voice to demand

BOOK PRESENTATION  2-5-2012

“ SENSE AND SUSTAINABILITY : EDUCATING FOR A LOW CARBON ECONOMY”

CARETAKERS OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE POST GRADUATE PROGRAM OF FACULTY OF EDUCATION ARISTOTLE UNIVERSITY THESSALONIKI organized a conference for the presentation of the Greek translation of the book   “ SENSE AND SUSTAINABILITY : EDUCATING FOR A LOW CARBON ECONOMY” by Ken Webster Head of Learning - Ellen MacArthur Foundation and Craig Johnson.

Ken Webster was invited as keynote speaker.

The 65  participants were teachers, teacher students, adult students of 2^nd Night School

of Thessaloniki and of the Second Chance school of Neapolis Thessaloniki.

Presentation was done by the president of CARETAKERS OF THE ENVIRONMENT GREECE  D.Tamoutseli and J.Markopoulos professor of the Faculty of Education Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The presentation was coordinatd by the dean of the Department of Education.

This book sets a major challenge to educators and educational establishments by not only introducing the principles of sustainability to students but also seeking to change the way schools and colleges approach education and view themselves in the context of the local community and  society in general.

The first four chapters are used for putting forward the case for a cradle to cradle approach, or ‘circular economy’, rather than the currently ingrained paradigm of ‘take-make-dump’. Sense and Sustainability is based around systems thinking. It applies this to all its work as a reflection of changes in science, which identify nonlinear systems as the norm and the older machine like linear models as special

cases or of limited value. Systems approaches based on feedback are the key to understanding participatory learning, to understanding design processes, to understanding how change happens; to the circular or closed loop economy, to understanding ecology, living systems and other feedback led processes such as climate and indeed democracy. Throughout, the authors, Ken Webster and Craig Johnson, use and celebrate lessons from Nature.

Differentrain forest layers in rain forest were used as a main example of closed loop feedback systems.. Limits are a constant reality in the rainforest, yet, paradoxically, scarcity is its own remedy. It triggers constant feedback, learning, and adaptations that shape the organisms and the relationships between organisms so that an extraordinary diversity and richness of life develops.

The presentation raised  a lot of question and there was a long discussion as the topic was very interesting to the participants.

Evaluation forms were give to adult students and teachers . All of them said that the presentation was inspiring, that it opened them a new window on looking at education for sustainability.   

SEMINAR

“SYSTEM THINKING AND NATURE: LEARNING FROM NATURE”

On the 3^rd of May a seminar was coordinated by teacher members of  the Greek partner of the project” Forest for all all for forest”. The seminar was organized by CARTETAKERS GREECE as an activity of the “Forest for all ,all for forest project”GRUNDVIG PROJECT.

The 25 participants were teacher students, teachers and second chance school students.

The topic was “SYSTEM THINKING AND NATURE: LEARNING FROM NATURE”

The venue place was the conference room of the Department of education of the Aristotle University Thessaloniki”.

The seminar introduced the idea that is  based on the emerging notion of circular or closed loop economy which is explored in the book “Sense and sustainability:Educating for a low carbon economy”. Mapping the core ideas of ‘how Nature /and in our case Forest works’ onto how educationist and students see the modern world it can generate ‘bright green thinking

Most of the earth’s natural ecosystems are driven by the Sun (‘current sunshine’). In nature, ‘waste=food’. Natural systems are self sustaining and abundant. In healthy ecosystems competition and cooperation (participation) usually go together. Everything connects and closed loop, circular feedback mechanisms help to ensure a dynamic balance and continuity in the system.

Using the ‘Nature as teacher’ framework of thinking, industrial products and systems are designed and developed to mimic Nature they are driven mainly by renewable energy sources and mimic the closed loops of natural ecosystems. Industrial products are designed in what is called a ‘cradle to cradle’ process. What end products cannot

be composted (e.g. metals) go back to industry in a closed loop– as a valuable, easy to manage ‘nutrient’.Waste is designed out using natural systems for inspiration. Education for sustainability becomes the debate around how the insights of Nature can be best applied explicitly to a modern world in transition and to the processes of learning itself, which is also based on participation and feedback.

Exploring the Biodiversity of the urban forest of SEIH SOU

SUNDAY 5^TH MAY 2012

The forest of Seih Sou, which means “the water of the Seih”, was chosen for its importance for the climate of the city and its rich biodiversity.

The activity included two steps.

First step: At the premises of the hotel Philipion, near the forest

Professor George Krigas made a power point presentation of the Biodiversity of Thessaloniki.

Our city hosts a tremendous richness of plants, 1012 different species.

Besides, researches have shown that Thessaloniki is the first city in the world for the great density in different species of plants.

Some of them are indigenous but most of them are non native.

One of the most important native plants is SILENE THESSALONICA which is the emblem of the Department of Green of the Municipality of the city.

Second step: Field activity - A walk in the forest

Our guide, Mr Krigas helped us to discover the amazing world of nature.

As an expert in the field, he helped us identify several species of plants, learn about their use and how they contribute to the economy of nature.

The event was attended by a remarkable number of people who, on a Sunday morning, left the “coach potato” mentality behind and came to appreciate the wonders of Nature.

“New kids on the block” What was amazing was the big number of young children who showed interest, asked questions and participated with enthusiasm. And it was Mr. Krigas there, whose greatest asset is the way he approaches children, to answer explicitly all our questions.

 In a world where nature is superseded by the irrational sprawl of urban structures what we really demand is that nature should be reconciled with the city. And it is the young generation which should take the lead.

The activity was organized by Mrs. Dina Tamoutseli, president of Caretakers Greece.

21^st MARCH

Bringing forest in the city/Celebrating the “Forest Day”

 Students of the Environmental club of the 4^th school of Stavroupolis/Thessaloniki with their teacher and Caretakers member Mrs Anthoula Hatzitheodorou participated in the celebration  of Forest Day with the following activity.They planted aromatic herbs in an urban open space close to the school in cooperation with Mrs. Triantafillopoulou from the Department of Green of our Municipality of Stavroupolis and the support of the Union of Parents. Mrs Triantafillopoulou, provided students with the herbs and helped them with planting.

The activity was organized within the frame of the plan “Open Public Spaces – They are demanded”. This activity is related to our project “Forest for  all for forest” as it is an attempt to introduce greenery in the city.

We keep on trying to transform abandoned open spaces into areas of Green for the benefit of the local community and we strongly believe that it will become a meeting place for the students as well as the neighbors.

Visit to the  Center of Environmental  Education in Naousa , the forest area of Agios Nikolaos and the historical site of Aristotles school in Mieza.

Participants: 33 learners of the 1^st  Second Chance School of Thessaloniki (adult learners school) and 2 teachers.

Naousa is a historic townwest of Thessaloniki at the foot of Mount Vermio. The city overlooks a beautiful valley with cultivations of many kind of fruit trees, like peach, pear, cherry, appricot trees and extensive vineyards.

We visited the Enviromental Education Center at the outskirts of the city. We attended a session on how sustainability is carried out in the local cultivations . The hosts held a special demonstration for us on how to maintain a compost container in our garden or on our balcony.

We were offered local products for lunch.

 Later there was a visit at a local wine distillery where the  owner talked to us  about the different phases of wine making , starting from the  cultivation of  vines to the bottling of  wine.

Early in the afternoon we went to the forest area of Aghios Nikolaos, part of which is a recreation area with water springs  and enjoyed the beauty of nature.

On the way back to Thessaloniki we stopped at Mieza, a beautiful landscape with lots of trees, to visit  the place where Aristotle taught his charismatic student, Alexander the Great.

GIVE US A TREE AND WE WILL GIVE YOU A FOREST

With this slogan the Greek team of the Grudtvig Project participated in the Tree planting day on 11 March 2012.

2000 trees of different species were planted in a protected area of 7ooo sqare metres in a western suburb of Thessaloniki.

Despite the atrocious weather conditions, wind and sleet, volunteers of all ages worked vigorously and eagerly.

Almost all members of the Grudtvig  project  < Forests for all, all for forests> were present – how could we miss such an important endeavour- and under the <supervision> and guidance of our coordinator Ms Dina Tamoutseli contributed to the success of the event.

The Head and the Heart of this venture Ms Nana Hatziathanasiadou, member of the Greek team, was present everywhere, guiding and helping us with her knowledge.

We were all determined to do our duty, to transform a barren, neglected area into a beautiful forest, in the long run of course.

It is in our hand to take care and protect the newly planted trees and see them grow and green the area.

We all left with a strong sentiment of fulfillment and a promise to continue our efforts.

EXPLORING THE FOREST OF HORTIATIS

Hortiatis mountain, with its highest peak rising at 1.200m, dominates the city of Thessaloniki – snow capped in the winter, cool and refreshing in the summer.

The forest of Hortiatis is the nearest natural forest to the city, only         20km from the centre. It is a unique <lung> for over a million inhabitants and attracts visitors who enjoy the serenity of nature all year round.

Vegetation abounds in this forest but it is mainly a forest of chestnut, oak and beech trees.

On Sunday 6^th November 2011- a fine autumn day- the Greek team of the “Forest for all-all for forest” project , in collaboration with the “ Movement of the citizens of Hortiatis ” and the agriculturalist Mrs Nana Hatziathanasiadou, member of caretakers, explored the mountain.

Mr Babis Nanakoudis, on behalf of the movement, orientated, guided and informed us about the importance of the forest and the dangers that threaten it such as hunting, littering and the irrational and irregular sprawling of the city.

Mrs Nana Hatziathanasiadou and Mrs Dina Tamoutseli, both Grundvig project members and experts on plants and herbs helped us identify them and enlightened us about how some of them like Verbascum thapsus,

Achillea millefolium, Colchicum autumnale and Urtica dioica are used in treatment.

Especially Achillea plants were in full bloom, covering the ground with a purple rug.

We tasted the small but delicious chestnuts, we saw the places where they used to make ice when there were no refrigerators and we were enchanted by the beautiful colours of the Autumn – green, yellow, orange and purple. Colours and scents everywhere.

It is undoubtedly worth visiting it.

By the end of the day we all felt rejuvenated!

FOREST FOR ALL /ALL FOR FOREST

Πρόγραμμα: Σύμπραξη Grunting

Κινητικότητα στην Ταρσό της  Τουρκίας

 Η 2^η κινητικότητα   στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος “Forest for all /all for forest”  που υλοποιείται στο πλαίσιο του Ευρωπαϊκού προγράμματος  Grunting και χρηματοδοτείται εκ ολοκλήρου από το πρόγραμμα αυτό εκτυλίχτηκε στην Ταρσό της Τουρκίας.  H διοργάνωση έγινε από τον Τούρκο εταίρο του προγράμματος. Η έναρξη της συνάντησης έγινε με ομιλία του διευθυντή του περιφερειακού Δασαρχείου της Κιλικίας, ο οποίος αναφέρθηκε στα προβλήματα που αντιμετωπίζουν τα δάση της περιοχής και τα μέτρα προστασίας που λαμβάνει η Διεύθυνση Δασών της περιοχής. Τα προβλήματα στα οποία αναφέρθηκε ήταν φαινόμενο του θερμοκηπίου, η υποβάθμιση και διάβρωση του εδάφους , οι μυκητολογικές ασθένειες και οι προσβολές από τα έντομα καθώς  και οι πυρκαγιές.

Για την ανάπλαση του δάσους αλλά και για τη φύτευση νέων δασών χρησιμοποιούνται κυρίως δασικά είδη που ευδοκιμούν στην περιοχή. Αξιοποιείται  και ενθαρρύνεται με πολλούς τρόπους η συμμετοχή των χωρικών, οι οποίοι  μέσα από αυτή την διαδικασία γίνονται φύλακές του.

Οι επισκέψεις σε φυτώρια στα οποία καλλιεργούνται δενδρύλλια για μεταφύτευση , συμπλήρωσαν  την εικόνα για την φροντίδα του δάσους .

Οι συμμετέχοντες είχαν την ευκαιρία να γνωρίσουν και την πόλη της Ταρσού (Αντιόχεια) που αποτελεί μια πόλη με πλούσια διαδρομή στον χρόνο, με  πλούσια ευρήματα, ιστορικά και θρησκευτικά και με πολύ ενδιαφέρον φυσικό περιβάλλον. Μια πόλη πατρίδα του Αποστόλου Παύλου, με μνημεία όπως η εκκλησία και το πηγάδι που σχετίζονται με τη ζωή του Αποστόλου Παύλου, με Ρωμαϊκά μνημεία όπως η Πύλη της Κλεοπάτρας αλλά και η αρχαία Ρωμαϊκή Οδός, και με παραδοσιακό οικιστικό πυρήνα. 

Η ομάδα , αποτελούμενη από εκπροσώπους από την Πορτογαλία, Πολωνία, Λιθουανία, Ρουμανία , Αγγλία  και  Ελλάδα έκανε, μεταξύ άλλων, τον απολογισμό της δράσης των διαφόρων εταίρων που συνεργάζονται στο πρόγραμμα στην περίοδο μετά την πρώτη  συνάντηση που υλοποιήθηκε στη Λισσαβώνα τον Οκτώβριο του 2011  με οργάνωση  από το συντονιστικό φορέα της σύμπραξης. Έγινε ενημέρωση για την επόμενη συνάντηση που θα γίνει στην Πολωνία το Μάϊο του 2012 και παρουσιάστηκαν και οι προγραμματισμένες δράσεις κάθε εταίρου   για το μεσοδιάστημα.

Ο υπεύθυνος συντονιστής για την επίσκεψη στην Τουρκία, ο Ali  Kurt, φρόντισε μεταξύ άλλων, η ομάδα των 18 συμμετεχόντων, να γνωρίσει την πόλη της Ταρσού, την γειτονική Μερσίνα, την τοπική κουζίνα και τα πιο σημαντικά αξιοθέατα. Από ελληνικής πλευράς συμμετείχαν μέλη της ΄Ενωσης Καθηγητών  και Μαθητών για το περιβάλλον/ CARTETAKERS OF THE ENVIRONMENT GREECE.

ENO- Tree planting Day FOR PEACE and the ENVIRONMENT and “FOREST FOR ALL-ALL FOR FOREST” GRUNDVIG PROJECT

The ENO programme- Environment Online - is a global, virtual school for sustainable development, coordinated by Pataluoto School in the city of Joensuu, Finland.

ENO Tree Planting Day has been arranged since 2004.

In collaboration with Caretakers Greece and the Grundvig program “Forest for all-all for Forest”, we took the initiative to organize a collective action to bring the forest in the city.

Our aim was to demand an open, public space for the benefit of the neighbourhood , to reinforce the opening of the school to the local community and make both aware of the value of trees and forests and of  the importance of participation in ameliorating and greening the local environment.

On September 21^st 2011 we invited the neighbouring primary school, the Head of Education Department, the union of parents, neighbours and the Local Authorities in order to involve them actively in the protection of the planted space.

We organized an open ceremony – students gave a speech, recited verses and poems about trees and plants, planted a Cedar tree / Cedrus Atlantic and in an attempt to upgrade aesthetically the school fence we decorated it with trees and bushes.
